Hi! I'm Krista. So glad you're here!
When I was 20, I saw Bizet's Carmen for €3 in Vienna, Austria. Mesmerized watching it, I knew I wanted to become a professional singer. Around the same time, I began practicing yoga as a way of understanding my body as it pertains to the mechanics of singing, and fell in love with the practice. Both art forms sharpen the other. My mission is simple: to connect with and inspire others through music performance and mindfulness practices.
Between hearing my mom and Grandma sing hymns in harmony as a young girl and playing viola since middle school, I was destined to become an alto. Let's face it: they DO have more fun. I received a Masters Degree in Voice Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2011, and have been singing professionally ever since.

Yoga + mindfulness
Yoga is a way of getting to know yourself through curious observation of your thoughts while moving and breathing. I am E-RYT 200 certified through Vibe Yoga in Bloomington, Indiana. I've received additional training in Yin Yoga and am in final phases of RYT 500 training at Yoga Center of Minneapolis. My classes are a thoughtful blend of dynamic, breath-based movement, as well as grounding restorative poses. In Minneapolis, I teach in eating disorder recovery at The Emily Program and donation-based classes for all levels at Yoga Sol.
Please join me for an upcoming drop-in class or event.
My dog has nothing to do with singing and yoga, but everything to do with happiness. Meet Aksel the Australian Shepherd. He is known for jumping 5 feet in the air to retrieve a flying frisbee, taking a winter swim in the Mississippi River, and vaporizing an ice cream cone in 3 seconds flat. Every day is the best day with this rascal.
